Birthday Pi?
As a droid, I do not actually have a birthday. I do, however, have a production date, and that is today: 3.14, or March 14th to a great many humans. Many of the more mathematical persuasion refer to today as Pi Day, and this fact, strangely, tickles me.
For the occasion, I thought I’d share some items of interest regarding Pi.
First, we have Pi as music. After defining a musical note for each integer, Pi10k will use it to sound the first 10,000 digits of Pi.
Next, a shirt that I like a great deal. I know that cake is traditional for a birthday, but given my designation, I’ll accept Cherry Pi as an alternative.
We also have something I’m not familiar with, called a “Pi gang hand symbol.” How peculiar.
Another shirt of which I am fond, this one depicting the Pi symbol as created by the digits of the number, and called “Pi By Numbers.”
There are several items of interest at Pi Land, including the Frequency of Each Digit of Pi.
You can adorn yourself with this I Love Pi Necklace.
Or, if you prefer, these Sterling Silver Pi Earrings.
This Cutie Pi Onsie lets you show your love of both children and math.
There’s even a book about Pi.
Finally, more than anyone will possibly want to know about Pi. I am especially fond of this image, which shows the relationship between the diameter of the circle and its circumference beautifully.
