Music and a Movie for a Saturday

I cannot find much to say about this, except that it is a brilliant marriage of science, music, and the Empire.  Also, please, do not experiment at home without proper understanding and safety precautions.

Charity Droids

MonsterbotOnce again, there is news on the droid art world.  This time we have the organization Robots and Monsters, who not only create droid (and monster) themed artwork, but sell it for a different charitable cause every quarter.  This quarter’s charity is the Electronic Frontier Foundation.  Last quarter, Robots and Monsters raised $11,890 for the SF AIDS Foundation.

All of the images are created based on three words or phrases supplied by the person ordering the artwork, making them collaborative pieces of a sort.  If you’d like a unique piece of art, as well as a chance to help others, please visit the site and learn more.

Imperial Warmth

QuiltI know I have mentioned this project in the past.  However, it seems the 501st Make a Wish Quilt Project has finally come to fruition.  With 91 patches from garrisons and events all over the planet.

For those attending the San Diego Comic-Con, the quilt is on display in the booth manned by the 501st Legion.  Please visit the auction, as well.

A Charitable Cause

Two more items integral to this holiday season seem to be both the giving of gifts, and charitable donations.  In this spirit, considering donating to a cause that helps the children of the Empire endure unpleasant hospital stays.

More proof

Surprising as it is, especially given Master Thirteen’s missives to the contrary, there are those that see the Galactic Empire as evil. This, despite all the good that has been accomplished in its name, even on this very distant planet.

Here is, perhaps, a listing that will tip the scales for doubters. The 501st Make a Wish Quilt Project. If helping make sick children happier is something you consider evil, then Lucas help you.
