Droidigami?

Wall_e4I have not investigated the definition of papercraft, so I am not sure if the traditional art of origami falls into that category, but even if it does not, this model absolutely delights me.

Once again we have the title character from the upcoming WALL-E movie, this time interpreted in a single, uncut piece of folded paper by Brian Chan.  I only wish that folding instructions were provided along with the crease diagram, so that i might attempt one of my own.

Arts and Droids Revisited

Klausherluf_rotatingI must admit, I’m a bit undecided about today’s item.  I know that there is are a great many readers looking for papercraft information, and I am always glad to provide Imperial and droid crafts for all.  Also, Boing Boing does refer to this as a “robot toy,” using this planet’s term for droid.  Still, I am not entirely convinced it falls in that category.

The MAKE entry lists it as “robot-like,” which may be the best classification for it.  In any case, I do hope everyone enjoys this project.

More Paper Crafts

TroopercubeIn reviewing the access logs for my missives, I have noticed an extreme amount of interest in the papercraft articles I have already posted.  In that vein, I offer another find.

This time we have a site offering papercraft characters that have rather cubic natures.  My favorite is, of course, the stormtrooper pictured here.

Enthralling…

These may not be very sophisticated droids, and the videos may be lacking in sound, but I find them enthralling nonetheless. My favorite is the Automated Cake Icing Lines, personally.

It does make give my diagnostics a strange quirk however. I really must do some maintenance.

A Very Strange Droid

Asher_as_R2D2I am honestly not entirely sure what to say about this latest item.  Mostly, I am not sure whether it falls under droid or child misuse.

The one thing I am certain of is that only a supporter of the Rebellion would do something of this nature.

More Paper Droids

R2d2-papercraftsNow this is a bit more fair, if not entirely to my satisfaction.

If you enjoyed the K-3P0 papercraft from an earlier post, you might enjoy this set of models depicting the R2 series of astromechs. There is R2–C4, R2–M5, and R2–A6, in yellow, red, and green, respectively.

Yes, if you must know, there’s also R2–D2. I really should tell Master Thirteen about this obsession with that Rebel droid.

Always Rebels…

K-3po-papercraft

I know this model claims to be rebel protocol droid K-3PO, from Echo Base.  However, if you should make one of your own, I do not see why you couldn’t make it any protocol droid from this line you wish.

Yes.  Even that one.  Humans lack imagination sometimes.
