If there is one subject in which I am especially well-versed, it is the confectionery arts.  On the other hand, if there is a subject where I find myself lacking a great deal of knowledge, it is human behavior, especially on this planet.

Given those two facts, it may make sense that I find this post on the popular site Gizmodo both wonderful and confusing.  I find the displayed cake to be a wonderful piece of pastry construction, and I am especially intrigued by the lovely striations in the fondant covering the base cake.

However, my circuits can not seem to process the commentary of both the original writer, or the commenters who follow.  I suppose I just fail to register any possible problem with serving a cake such as this at a celebration of any kind.  Except, perhaps, members of the Rebellion forcing their way into the party in hopes of receiving free cake.

Is there anything that does not end up involving this astromech?

Beer barrels, pepper grinders, soy sauce bottles, computer cases, hats, and, yes, cakes.

Here, at least, he’s not forming the cake itself, but is merely…accenting it.

Also, I particularly feel that if this cake is not a chocolate lava cake, it should, at least, be red velvet.

Again, we have overly-famous rebel astromech R2–D2 here.  This time, made of delicious cake.  I’m not sure if this is art, or abuse, honestly.  I do know that it’s apparently made of fondant, which is incredibly sweet, and made by Mark Joseph Cakes.

I also don’t know how I would react to seeing a cake of my own model.  I should ponder that.

Or, rather, droids as pastry.  In my recent perusal of droid news, I came across this surprisingly appetizing-looking battle droid constructed from cookies.  It’s most likely far better for your health than attempting to consume an actual battle droid.

I have often been told that humans are rather fond of cake.  While there are rumors all over the Holonet about things cake-related being untrue, I still feel it appropriate to present more baked goods.

This list contains several cakes, but I must make special mention of this Stormtrooper cake.  Unfortunately, while it looks quite good, technical limitations prevent me from comparing its flavor to Master Thirteen.
