How to Take Care of Your iPod
An iPod player is sought after by everybody, especially the teenagers who seem to be glued to it. Since it is used daily and some are quite expensive you need to know how to care for it.
The following should be kept in mind:
- In some rare cases voltage fluctuation may cause circuit damage. Just charge it at home or at a place where you are sure that there is no voltage fluctuation or any fault in electrical wiring.
- The most important part that needs care is the battery. This is the only source of energy for your device and the part that can give problems if not looked after. Although the good quality players are long lasting the batteries can wear out over time and with the kind of usage. Keep it away from extreme temperatures. Improve battery life by switching off your player when not in use. If you have a tendency of forgetting to power off then just do a one time setting of the timer to auto power off in say 10 seconds. Although for most models you can buy replacement batteries which works out much cheaper than changing the whole device itself; you will be saved the hassle and enjoy a longer battery life with these precautions.
- Do not in any circumstances allow your device to come into contact with water.
- While charging the adaptor may become warm just ensure enough ventilation near the charger.
- While involved in a physical activity make sure your mp3 player is secured well whether using a belt clip or any other method. Also check that the wire of your earphones has enough slack and does not tangle while you are working out or playing.
- Always gently attach the adapter wires or place the device in the dock as force or pressure can cause damage.
- Keep the volume down as low as possible to safeguard the earphones and your ears!
