Is it dangerous for MLB players to look into the sun to catch fly balls?

The Arizona Diamondbacks dropped two fly balls this weekend while looking directly into the sun to try to catch them. The Dodgers were able to benefit. But isn’t this very dangerous even if they have sunglasses on? Shouldn’t the MLB and MLBPA take measures to prevent players from having to look into the sun and damage their eye sight? Perhaps they could signal that they can’t look for it so it’s an automatic single? These players could potentially have sight problems later in life.

The only really dangerous thing for MLB outfielders is if the lose the ball and it hits them on the head. When the Astrodome opened they actually wore batting helmets in the outfield because the ceiling blinded them until it was painted to correct the problem. Jose Canseco was hit in the head with a fly ball but he was a little thick headed so it didn’t hurt.
